From Sassagoula River to Seven Seas Lagoon, there’s a little Disney magic in your running views with every mile. My personal favorite running trail winds around Disney’s Art of Animation Resort with a 1.38-mile path that passes by the colorful courtyards inspired by Walt Disney and Disney•Pixar classics “Cars,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Lion King” and “The Little Mermaid” – doesn’t get much more “Disney” than that!
Planning to head out on one of the trails during your upcoming vacation? Keep these tips in mind for a great run:
- Some of the routes are shared spaces with pedestrians, bicycles and/or surrey bikes so be aware of your surroundings as you run.
- Keep in mind that some of the running trails offer a variety of terrain, from a boardwalk to paved bricks surrounded by sand, so watch for changes in those surfaces.
- Summertime in Florida can be quite warm – for a more enjoyable set of miles, head out in the morning or early evening for slightly cooler temperatures, and be sure to stay hydrated!
